Emily Martecchini
Emily is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Conservation. She was born in Summit, New Jersey, and grew up in Duxbury, Massachusetts, just south of Boston. Her “favorite” environmental issue to study is the effects of human-created pollution on the environment and all of its inhabitants. Emily also plays the viola in the Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra, and sings in the Catholic choir on campus. Another favorite hobby of hers is making art out of plastic “garbage” (candy wrappers, bottle caps, etc.), thereby keeping plastic out of landfills. After graduating from Mount Holyoke, Emily plans on educating others about environmental problems.
